- Can I go a week without indulging in something sweet from Kara’s Cupcakes? Yes, I can, but this was no such week. On Sunday I met my friend Carrie who, shock of shocks, hadn’t yet experienced Kara’s (or Oxbow), even though she lives here in Napa. We both got the organic strawberry cupcake–a seasonal cupcake and my new favorite–and sat outside, swatting yellow jackets and catching up on each other’s lives. (And then this amazing, beautiful, gracious and generous woman brought cupcakes to the office today–and perilous but much-appreciated treat. And anyone who brings me a cupcake from Kara’s is truly amazing, beautiful–or handsome, gracious and generous. Genius, too!)
- Wednesday evening I met Robin for a quick sip at Bottega. As with last week’s visit to Bottega, she had the Schramsberg and I a Rosini. What can I say? We are creatures of habit–on the other hand, if you find a good thing, why divert the path? Suitably refreshed, we headed over to Dive Bar at Bardessono–for more refreshment. We met Heidi (of Pilates Napa Valley) and friends and relaxed in a cabana by the pool. No bad at all.
- Tomorrow I am popping over to Brews, Blues and BBQs. Doesn’t a frosty cold one sound fantastic on this sizzling-hot weekend?

I’m sure there are many things I have yet to experience in our beautiful valley. Thanks for helping me check one thing off my list! P.S. I think that was the best cupcake I’ve ever had!
