There are just too many wineries to visit and restaurants to enjoy in the Napa Valley. How does a girl get them all in?
Wednesday night a few friends and I stopped by the last Bardessono Dive Bar of the season. The place was completely empty, but no matter–we popped a bottle of Mumm (to celebrate a birthday) and talked until after the sun sank from view. It was getting cold rooftop by the pool, and so we decided to stop by Hurley’s for a bite. Our intention had been to get appetizers, but when we sat down and looked at the menu, we decided we were ravenous and ordered calamari and a selection of mains. (As well as a nice, affordable bottle of Trefethen Double T red wine.) All dishes were tasty and, really, the meal wasn’t expensive; however, I often ask myself as I daily drive by so many amazing wineries and restaurants: How can I afford my Napa Valley lifestyle?– a question which brings to mind CAKE’s “How Do You Afford Your Rock n’ Roll Lifestyle?” (Check it out–they’re even eating grapes!)
For now the answer is to take it one winery and one restaurant at a time.
