Harvest is finally upon us–for the thinner-skinned grapes, anyway; Cab still has a ways to go. And this means that we’re all putting in more time at work–even if we aren’t the ones out in the vineyards doing the harvesting. It would be an exciting time even without Mother Nature’s coquetry.
I met friends Friday at Carpe Diem Wine Bar after work Friday. I ordered a beer, forgive me. Sometimes a nice, cold beer is just the thing, satisfying thirst in a way wine just can’t. Plus, Carpe Diem has one of my favorites on tap: Blue Moon. We snacked on a charcuterie and cheese platter and then walked over to Oxbow in search of the new Dim Sum Charlie’s, which was slated
for a super soft, hush-hush opening. Sure enough: we crossed the 1st street bridge, navigated the construction barriers, and there, to our left was the shiny airstream with welcome, twinkly lights and picnic tables.
However: no dim sum. There was an electrical problem of some sort, so we decided to wander over to Oxbow and return. Except hunger got the better of us (well, two of us) and we were lured into Gott’s. I’ll be back for the deliciousness at Dim Sum Charlie’s, though. You can count on it.

Great post! All of these spots look great to hit when we visit next month. I sure hope Dim Sum Charlie’s is selling T-shirts, because that is a classic logo and tag line.
Once again, thanks for giving insight into the local scene.
