Hello!: ToutSuite Social Club

There’s a new show in town, combining technology & social media, food & wine & lifestyle, and people around the world. Intrigued? Hop on over to the ToutSuite Social Club and take a peek.

Last Thursday I joined a contingent of curious bloggers and writers at the ToutSuite headquarters in St. Helena for an introduction to this exciting, new venture. We settled in the green room with glasses of wine in our hands, while the video crew made final preparations for capturing the evening’s show. On the docket, a blind tasting of domestic syrahs with special guests Mike Hirby, Paul Hoffman, and Jeff Smith. (Check out the calendar for upcoming shows.)

Just what is ToutSuite? Co-founders Susan Quinn and Didier Loustau have combined their passions for wine, food, technology, people, the many things that comprise “the good life” in an effort to connect people, no matter where they are across the globe, with the people behind the brands.

Does this raise more questions than provide answers? I suggest you start by looking at the event calendar. If you see something that intrigues, sign up for a membership (free at this point) and register for an event or two. Susan and Didier have caught a hold of something really exciting, and they readily admit that there are many opportunities. “For now, we are going to see where the interest goes,” Susan says. (Psst! This means members are getting in on something new and, if early feedback is any indication–and I think it is, something really cool.)

Well, Thursday night, following the blind tasting, my interest urged me into the kitchen where ToutSuite Chef Paul Wiggins and guest Chef Nick Heinrich were serving up heaping plates of Southern fare. The menu:

Hickory Smoked Beef Brisket with Crooked Porch Bar B Que Sauce

Southern Veggie Succotash

McEwen and Son’s Stone Ground Grits

Arugula, Chow Chow Vinaigrette

Every bite was flavorful and fantastic. We all hung out on the back porch and talked and sipped–and each of us felt (I think) a little of what Susan and Didier are wanting to share and inspire in people everywhere: passion, curiosity, community.
